  • The wealthy are taxed less because it's not earned income from a job, but investments that are their main source of wealth. They paid taxes on the income used to make those investments. Raising capital gains taxes will inhibit taking risk by investing in the market.

  • @Lame: I vote with Gilligan. I'm a southern boy that didn't go to an Ivy. I went to a State college while working 2 jobs to pay for it. You don't need an Ivy degree to be right or recognize reality. His point is valid that you surrender your "humanity" when engaging in criminal behavior.

  • Thanks. Unfortunately he passed away a year later. I have his Browning 25 now. He and his five brothers all proudly served in the Army, with four of them in WWII. My brother and I were both in the Eighty Deuce. I was proud to defend our Constitution.

  • @Imdsocc: I salute you! There are many mom's just like you. However I am referring to a systemic problem in our urban areas. There is a national problem due to low income single parent families. Statically it leads to outcomes than are different than yours.

  • @ NC Open Heart: Government will not solve this problem. Having a stable two parent family will. My guess is at least 2 of the 3 were from single mother families with no active parenting from a father.
